Condamine Bell

The Taste

The ring of the Condamine Bell is a familiar sound in Western Queensland and beyond. The Riversands pottery version is moulded from an original SW Jones metal bell made between 1868 & 1912 and holds 750mLs of mellow tawny port.

Bendigo Pottery cast these pottery bells exclusively for Riversands. The bells are numbered on the side with the story of the bell on the reverse. They are highly collectable.

The Bush Story in this Glass

The original metal Condamine Bells were made for drovers and bullockies to hang around the neck of their stock to keep track of them. They had a deep low ring which carried for miles. They were also called "Bullfrog Bells"
